  1. Carpenter Lyrics. Jesus was a carpenter a carpenter by trade apprentice of an artisan a craftsman he was made The people come from miles around from far and distant lands to be the first to see the work built by the master’s hand With a trained square and level his measurements true he’d fix what was broken and make it better than brand new.

  2. Apr 29,  · Whether Jesus was a carpenter working with wood or a stonemason has no bearing on his work as Savior of the world, but it does help us when we read the Bible, bringing a fresh sense of his words and their meaning. This knowledge enhances our picture of him, bringing him into sharper liolacompsurfbathtboontapartzipnomana.coinfo: Robby Gallaty.

  3. Yet the Greek work here is "tekton" — often translated in English as "carpenter"— is better translated "builder," which could just as easily refer to a stone mason, according to religious scholar James Tabor. Tabor noted in a December blog entry that it is important to note the context in which Jesus lived and how that informed his teachings.

  4. Apr 09,  · When Jesus was a carpenter, He was still The LORD, The Son of God, soon to be revealed. Your current obscurity, cannot change your covenant prosperity predestined in Christ Jesus! As Jesus fulfilled His Destiny, so you will fulfill yours — fully. What God has purposed and created you to be, THAT you will SURELY be.

  5. Mar 12,  · In those verses, Jesus and Joseph are called tektōn, which is most frequently rendered “carpenter” by Bible translators. In an excerpt published at Christian Post, Gallaty says that word is more accurately understood as craftsman or liolacompsurfbathtboontapartzipnomana.coinfo: Aaron Earls.

  6. Dec 19,  · In highlighting Jesus’ occupation, the point is not that Jesus was a carpenter and not, say, a fisherman or a mason (or a mason and not a carpenter, etc.), but that Jesus was a blue-collar worker and not a white collar worker; a peasant and not a noble; a man of humble origins and was not born into a family of high social standing.

  7. Jun 14,  · Now obviously, eventually Jesus’s chosen profession was of a “Rabbi” or teacher; so in that sense he wasn’t a carpenter regardless of translation. However, in his early years, it is supposed from Mark that he was, like his step-father, a “carpenter” as commonly translated.

  8. Mark's Gospel clearly states that Jesus was a carpenter (Mark Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him.). However, Mark is the only gospel that tells us that Jesus was a carpenter.
